I have a 56k modem and yes, a COM port, but don't wanna waist money..

4 MB of RAM
35 MB of HD Space

I had it running on a 75 MHz DX4 with 16 MB of RAM perfectly.

No. Windoy you are wrong. Windows reads them. I have OS/2 3.0 Warp, it is on 27 disks, and windows read them quite fine.
No, I won't upload it cuz it will take several days...

Run it on a 486 and get the same results. It's a small OS with a GUI. It doesn't even have networking.

It only supports NetBUI in the OS\2 version, the TCP/IP is broken.

3.0 Connect was the first to have true networking.

I'm still looking for a floppy copy so I can install it on my thinkpad. Or figure out how to get v4 to install from a HD.

Is it a CD install? Shouldn't be too hard if it is.

From what I remember you modify a file on the bootdisk to point to the install folder on your HD.

It boots off of a floppy? If it does, and does what I think (loads a CD driver and tries to start the install from that drive) you might be able to use SUBST to assign that folder the CD drive letter.

Eh, it worked for Windows 2.x.

It doesn't boot off of DOS. It'll boot off the floppy and then copy the stuff off the CD.

It boots off of OS/2 Command prompt.

For some reason I recall that with 2.1, SYSINSTX.COM could also be run from DOS.

I never used that file to start installation. I always booted from FD #1
