finally some new ram
tonight i broke down and went to staples and got 128mb of ram for the dell latitude c6000 laptop so no its got 256 mb and i got to say it was a good investment as performacen is much MUCH better now, i asked the guy at the store if it would work in dell laptops and he said i quote " dell can be picky when it comes to memory" but i risked it and it worked fine. but ive heard stories of dell not accpeting no dell ram, what is the deal with that , dell doesnt think anyone elses ram is good enough ??? i thought it was generic??

It's standard SDRAM or DDR SDRAM.
I was probably just the wrong type.

I paid $193 for a whole Gig of RAM for my laptop. It's at 1.25GB now
Sounds like you got ripped.
BestBuy wants like $175 for 512MB. The local computer shop wanted $300. I've seen one place where it was less, outpost, and there it was like $150 or something. That one had no positive reviews at all, the NewEgg had tons of good reviews and indication that it worked in Macs and PC's.
I'm a little confused... how'd I get ripped?

Mine does 2 GB max AFIAK. 2x 1 GB sticks @ 333 MHz or less.
