    My new speakers!

4x Philips 22RH544 Active Motional Feedback speakers, with 2 amplifiers per speaker. 20watt for mid and high, and 40watt for the bass. And I'm talking about REAL RMS watts. not those PMPO values on your subwoofer systems.

The motional feedback system means that the woofer have an integrated accelerometer which measures the woofers movement, sends it back to the amplifier, compares it to the input signal and corrects it. This makes the ultra low 30hz bass possible. (most subwoofer systems dont go any lower than 40-45hz).

    And I got a Philips 743 tuner/pre-amplifier as well.
They dont look nice, I'm gonna restore them.

Very, very nice. But I like digital optical/coaxial-input 5.1s. :) Analog sounds completely gross now.

I cant hear the difference between a good analog system and a good 5.1 digital system. After all, you still need an amplifier and something that translates the electric signal to the speakers' voicecoil movement.

Notice the "after taxes" part? :P

Take $2043 and add 14.5% to it, since that's the going rate for government-induced ass-raping here in Canada. :P

Hmm...here in N.S. it's 15% tax, I know it varies a little province to province.

    Anyhow nice system (y).

  • Canada...once again...has a government which provides a lot more government services. Which you are not getting for free...So while in the US we have health insurance companies who we pay, in Canada you pay your sales tax to get health care.

And yeah, the Mobiles are factory unlocked. That's why they pwn.

Roger: I don't really know, I bought it over the course of about a month. :P But let me see ...

    Samsung 997DF - $285
    Samsung 997DF - $285
    MSI Neo2 Platinum - ~$180
    Athlon 64 3000+ - ~$180
    Logitech Z-5500 - $358
Logitech Cordless MX Duo - ~$100
    1 GB Samsung DDR400 - ~$180
    X800 XT Platinum Edition - $35 (LMAO)
    WD 120 GB SATA - $115
    WD 120 GB SATA - $115
    Antec Sonata w/ 350W PSU - ~$110
    Pioneer DVD+/-RW - ~$90
    Black Floppy Drive - ~$10

    So about $2350 CAD after taxes, +/- $100. Yeah, it's a lot. :S

But then again this computer is going to be with me for at least 5 years.

That... is soooo nice. (dance) (drool)

Yeah, in Canada it's 7.5% provincial tax, and 7% federal. Or maybe it's the other way around -- I forget.

I see no one's asked about the oddity that is the video card. :P

From what I recall, some high-end ATI card was announced but never made available to the general public. I think it was the X800, or maybe the X850 (does such a thing even exist?). I also admire the price you got on it.
  • Forgot about tax. Numbers didn't see to look right, guess I'm not used to that much of a tax percentage. 6% is mcuh mroe negligible.
  • How'd you get the video card that cheap? Used?
