Another new toy for me

  • That's AGP 4x, and AGP 8x runs at 533 MHz, but it all runs at a 66 MHz clock cycle.
  • It says 8x is 266... ::?

    Anyway I see it, I missed the "effective" bit.

  • I checked geek.com and it says 533 MHz also.

    AGP 8x - This AGP standard features a parallel 32-bit bus running at 533MHz effectively (66MHz*8 literally) for a maximum data transfer rate of 2GB/second. This is the last parallel form of AGP, and is compatible with all previous AGP cards.

    (Though a 3.3V AGP 2x or 1x card isn't compatable with an 8x 1.5V slot, it won't even fit, let alone actually WORK)
  • i managed to get my TNT2 to fit in my mobo but it didnt work.
  • Really? The AGP 2x and 4x slots should be different. the notches are in different places.

    I've tried it alrady with an old Matrox and Voodoo 3.

    Look at the top 3. Ignor the AGP Pro.

  • My TNT2 card has 2 slots, maybe that's why?
  • Than it's universal AGP, should of worked.

    Most of the ones I've seen though were AGP 2x though.

  • More like, try telling the misguided/misinformed (or downright lying?) apps/BIOS that's trying to say as much.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • No, I'm implying that if whatever app/BIOS was written well/better/right, none of this would've likely happened. He may be at fault but he's not the only one.

    PS. So it's like the DX2/4s (As far as the naming convention goes) ?
