McAfee VirusScan vs. Norton AntiVirus -- which is better?

edited February 2005 in Software
I need to know, because I have 5 McAfee apps, and I want to know. Which is better? McAfee VirusScan or Norton AntiVirus? I recently (today) installed the McAfee firewall, SpamKiller, QuickClean, and Internet Security. Let me know. I'm not installing the VirusScan until then. Thanks.

I *hate* P2P programs like kazaa and emule....
  • eMule = kazaa for real men

Yeah, real men use IRC and Torrents. (and eMule)
  • I use torrents, http, and ftp. I have never had to resort to those p2p programs.... :puke:
  • NOD32 ">" all other AVs.

I know ppl are going to be like "AVs are teh gay0rz!", but IF you need/want an AV, I strongly recommend that.

    N00b.

    I *never* get viruses. And I use Tomchu's Anti-Virus 1.0 -- yours for only a brain and a half.

I use FishNET AV 2.0, and its worked fine for quite a while.

WTF are you doing, then? Using Outlook Express?

Or maybe you download all those "document.zip" files, extract them, and run the magical EXE inside? Is that the case?

You can't get a virus just by receiving an email with a virused attachment. You actually have to RUN the attached program. Or just be using OE.
Aaaah no. I get the virusses from email attachements in Outlook 2003. I *DONT* run them. And plus, I get lots of exploits from the crack sites I use...

    BTW:
"E-mail viruses -- An e-mail virus moves around in e-mail messages, and usually replicates itself by automatically mailing itself to dozens of people in the victim's e-mail address book."
  • dumbass. i dont get *any* exploits and i use cracks sites.
  • Heh. Ive gotten at least two...

Some type of XXX Dialer and something else.

    BOTH in FireFox.
