OK, I'll admit to sometimes doing what Ridgeback is doing here, which is making some comment and then when ppl respond in the predictable manner revealing some minor technicality that actually puts them in the wrong. Word of advice, it makes you look annoying and dumb, irritates the people your arguing with, ruins the conversation and doesn't really give you a real shield from the actuall argument.
Well guys the email viruses never infect me (true) but I *have* been infected before. It was by some type of virus inside of a rared file I downloaded with BT.
I use AVG free edition, gets the job done, uses few resources. For spyware I use spybot s&d. I get virii or spyware very very rarely. I have found things in my java jar cache mostly. Although I use firefox for all my browsing (especially crack sites) it seems that they download but lay dormant.

Every head of spybot search and destroy... and hijack this? run them on your system, and clean it out
