I think thats what you call making a midi file. Thats what I would like a program that you could make midi music, i'm not bothered about recording just riffs that you can add to make music.

There are a lot of programs you can create MIDI files with, like Band-In-A-Box, Cubasis, Cakewalk and lots more!

I use to have a killer program that would convert WAV files to MIDI. Sometimes it would sound like shit but other times it sounds sweet.

Band-In-a-Box sucks... I have a small home studio. The studio is based on a Mac but i had a PC before. On the PC i used Cubase... VST 5.0 is great for MIDI sequencing. Logic Express and Sonar is also good.

We have BIAB @ school, and i hate it! Logic, Cubase, Sonar, Orion Platinum, Ableton Live!, Fruity Loops and Sound Tracker on the Amiga is much more nice then BIAB ever will be! BIAB is for teaching onley! You can use the rock solid Atari ST series computers with Crator/Notator or Cubase 2.0 to... Aaaaa....
