Bluesun, you can also performance tune the VPC for the CPU cycles it needs or doesn't need etc.. lots of stuff you can do, I don;t get any lag unless I change focus to another VPC
Thanks for the link. I got the Loopback Adapter installed, but I still can't get NT 3.51 connected.
Here's my network settings for the virtual machine:
As to the fileho debate... meh... shrug. I could have compressed it, but it's just one more point of error in getting somthing like an entire computer to work (that's what this VHD is, an entire virtual computer and software)
To Beanboy,
great that you have it, now bridge the connection between the Loopback adapter and the real adapter in your network settings. (this is not a Virtual PC thing btw)
You typically do this by highlighting your real nternet connection and your loopback adapater both at once, this then gives you the option to bridge them together. You can press the alt key then highlight the two connections with left click, then right click to get the bridge option. This is done in the network connections window on Windows, not in VPC.
Don't blame me, this is M$'s idea of networking.
You guys should thank Q for hosting this , thanks Q for using the badlady to the get the file
I don't mind the hosting, I might rename the file and/or put it on FTP also to facilitate people getting it, although even raw HTTP seems to work better then "F
Using WinImage I beleive you could turn this image to a physical Disk. By this I mean putting the boot sector and all files and dir's onto another hard drive which can boot into this image. It's just now physically on a hard drive and so can be put in what ever machine you want. With this in mind you could thin out un-needed stuff. Copy the NT boot sector and place it on a custom boot cd and then burn the nt files onto a cd root dir. then you'd have a live cd of nt3.1:P Least it sounds good in theory.
Yes thats basically what I said but you'd need to use NT's boot manager or a third party boot sector manager for it to be a bootable disc that works. Thats why I made a copy of my Dos 6.22 (with CD drivers) as my boot sector on my custom dos and windows cd. (torrents on demonoid btw).
How do I install it on Virtual PC 2004? I get the:
"The virtual machine could not be started because there was not enough memory available on the host."
error without Nero InCD being present (I researched the error online, first). I am running it on Windows 2000 Pro, and get this error for every vhd I make. What am I doing wrong?

Try reducing the amount of ram you are using for the vpc.

I've tried every adapter on the list, and nothing. Oh well.
EDIT:OK - downloading 350.1mb file from Q.

Edit: However I notice the my build has Office XP and that will have to come off first...
I downloaded it on my Mac as I hadn't yet fixed my other Windows (2000) laptop which CAN run it.
I burned it to disk to transfer to my windows laptop.
