It is sad that the eBay parasites are often willing to throw out something that they can't sell for a stupid high price. I actually had a seller tell me they'd rather burn an item then sell it to me for my offer. To these people Watchers are the same as a like to social media zombies.
Yeah, I've seen stuff with crazy purchase costs. For instance, $285 for XyWrite III. That's a crazy amount of money. I've asked the seller if they're willing to come down in price, and while they are, they're not willing to come down to anything reasonable. I offered $100, which I felt was more than fair. I was told "it's worth more to me than that". So at least it doesn't sound like they'll throw it away. I've also been told "oh, it'll sell for more than that easily" on occasion. Yet months later, there it is, still for sale.
Keep in mind a lot of eBay sellers are actual junk dealers. They pick random stuff out of the trash or such, then post it for absurd prices, and they get enough rich idiots buying the actual less common stuff, that they think the rest should be worth the same. Then anything that does not sell is simply trash again.
Even for those that are not, they want at least enough money to cover the time and effort it takes to ship something, all on top of huge eBay fees and insane shipping costs. The last couple of years, costs have literally doubled on lots of things. I really wish there were a better way to get/sell stuff.
But I do hate it when sellers use "if it does not sell, it is going in the garbage" as a selling point. That is just bad salesmanship. Yes, that may be the unavoidable truth but it is not how you convince someone to buy something. (Hmm, I'm not going to buy that drooling dumb cell phone, please do throw it in the trash :P ). Protip: if you did throw something you were selling out, and have to let people know, just say "The item is no longer available", instead of "too late, I've thrown it in the bin. Sucks to be you.".
I've also seen various IBM PCjr/PC Convertible hardware items from the same sellers that looked like they were from that place. I wish they had not pulled that video, it really did have some interesting stuff in it.
Ah, so you grabbed that Samna Word III, I saw that out there the other day and it disappeared just before I was about to grab it myself. Not too bad of a price, compared to what they were asking for other stuff. If that III manual is three-ring please scan it! (I've still got some Samna Word IV training crap I need to finish archiving)
Also, that TEXELEC seller is the same one who makes replacement foam pads for Keytronic style capacitive keyboards.

Samna IV was also similarly priced, so I figured I'd pick both of them up. I haven't seen either of them on any of the software preservation sites.

It is 3-ring, which certainly makes it easier to scan (the Samna Word IV is also 3-ring bound).

Cool. Hopefully it is in good condition.
The same seller, juliansrecords1 has a pile of really cool and uncommon (although crazy priced) software packages.
Yeah that In-A-Vision was just on the edge of what I was willing to spend. I really want that Paradox for OS/2, but over $200? No way. That said, the prices have been steadily going down over the last week or so. Paradox was originally listed at $365 and now it's down to just over $200. If they keep dropping the prices it may get to where I can afford it eventually.

On a side note, I think some of the listed items above may have come from the Texas "Computer Reset" store closing that I mentioned here: https://forum.winworldpc.com/discussion/11314/texas-computer-store-computer-reset-liquidation#latest The last I head they were letting some locals in to buy up larger quantities of stock.

Yes, prices have gone nuts lately. But it can still be informative as something to gawk at.
That Micrografx In-a-Vision sold. Too pricey for me, though. That same seller has some other interesting stuff.

Yup, that was me. I'll send a PM once I've imaged it. Exciting to finally have a full version.
Cool. Hopefully it is in good condition.
The same seller, juliansrecords1 has a pile of really cool and uncommon (although crazy priced) software packages.
That's nice, thank you.
