[requests] Misc software list

edited June 2015 in Offers & Requests
The following are a list of titles and versions that I think would be good to add to Winworld, should they turn up. These are just a few that I don't see anywhere "out there" off hand, and I will probably add to this list as time goes on.

Publish-it 2.0 for GEM
Publish-it 3.0 for GEM
Publish-it for Windows (16-bit)
Publish-it for Macintosh (different from GEM versions)
Visual Basic 3 Standard Edition (All the ones posted anywhere are the professional edition.)
Complete, proper dump of Televideo OEM MS-DOS 2.x.
Ventura Publisher 1.0 (earliest currently is 1.1)
Peachtext 5000 (DOS)
Borland Sidekick for Presentation Manager (OS/2 1.x)
Borland Sidekick for Mac
Microsoft DOS for Eagle 1600 from Eagle Computer (May not be compleatly PC compatible)
Microsoft Word 2.0 for DOS (Believed to be heavily copy protected, must use TC, SCP, or KF)
Oracle Developer/2000 (contains Oracle Forms 4.5)
Microsoft Windows 3.0, 360K version.
UCSD p-system for IBM PC
Excel 1.00 for Mac
Microsoft Access (The 1980s communications program, not the 1990s database by the same name)
MS-DOS 2.11 Leading Edge OEM and diagnostics disk.
Balance of Power - 1986 edition for PC, Full setup disk images. Transcopy (or better) disk images needed, believed to be copy protected.
Balance of Power - 1990 edition for PC, Full setup disk images. Is this copy protected?
Acrobat Reader 1.0 for Windows 3.1? (Or was there only the DOS version? This is unclear)
Framemaker (various version)
Instant Artist 1.0 for DOS (Not the Windows version)
IBM Typing Tutor Cassette - (If this was actually released)
Kaypro 2000 utility disk (with color utility)

  • Acrobat Reader 1.0 for Windows 3.1? (Or was there only the DOS version? This is unclear)

    http://www.planetpdf.com/planetpdf/pdfs/adobe_acrobat1_broch.pdf

Reading this brochure for Acrobat 1.0 products it appears there was. It says "Acrobat Reader software is available for Macintosh and Windows users and will soon be available for DOS and UNIX users." The following pages then goes to show the Mac and Windows system requirements.

I happen to have the retail box with all the manuals for VB 3.0 Standard I picked up from someone, but unfortunately the disks are missing. Otherwise would have uploaded it.

I've been looking for this along with a copy of Hypercard for a while now. No luck on either.
  • A few more specific versions of products wanted:

    IBM HomeWord (info: http://nerdlypleasures.blogspot.com/201 ... o-use.html )
Street Atlas 5 (or other earlier versions)
Volkswriter 3 (or other versions)(Not copy protected)
    Lotus Symphony 3 (Proper dump)
Microsoft Project 1.00/2.00/2.01/3.00 for DOS - Various magazines mention these versions.

    R:Base 4000 (earlier than 5000, v2, etc)

Microsoft Works 3.0b for DOS (Only 3.0 is out there right now)
Tandy DeskMate 1.00 for Tandy 1000 (Earliest out there is 1.01 right now)

    IMSI Publisher for DOS
    IMSI Magician for DOS
IBM Displaywrite (1,2,3,4) (Seen some partial copies out there, needs disks plus manuals)
  • >Balance of Power - 1990 edition for PC, Full setup disk images. Is this copy protected?

This must be no copy protected.

I have original release of Balance of Power (1986).
Yes, this program runs on Windows 1.0x but it has copy protection.
The protection is Not so High Level.
It can be dumped by Teledisk to run on PCE (IBM PC 5150) emulator without crack.
(PCE supports FDC of INT-13, most of copy protected disks are supported.)

    I have a question.

Do you have Copy II PC Deluxe Optionboard (or Trans Copy Optionboard), or Kyroflux?

    I have TCOB.

This must be no copy protected.
What specifically makes you think that?
BTW, despite the name this game was released in 1989. The setting of the game takes place in 1990, hence the name. I believe it was a Windows 2 application, but the only version I have seen floating around is a single EXE and looks like it was converted from Windows 2 to Windows 3 resource format.

    Care to share? :D

You can use the "upload" button on the library pages to contribute files.

At the moment, just a TransCopy card (type with integrated Transcopy 3 chip). But we appreciate as many different applicable formats as possible. So please do upload any formats that will produce a functional copy (Transcopy, Teledisk, ImageDisk, CopyIIPC, Kryoflux, Supercard Pro, etc...)
  • >What specifically makes you think that?

I also have this pacakge, but a few disks are broken.
At least no copy protected sector on disk 1.

    >Care to share? :D

I don't want to share Copy Protected disk as public.
(Because, I dislike to share my package easily. I only can share non-copy protected program or game as 3.5" format.)
But if you want it, I can send it by PM or Email separately.
  • Now I uploaded "Balance of Power: The 1990 Edition"

(This program requires Microsoft Windows 2.0 or higher.)
  • A few more misc wanted:
Microsoft Pascal 3.3 for Xenix 286
    Microsoft Pascal 3.3 manual scans.
    MicroPro Easy
Full disk dumps of Micrografx In-A-Vision
    Xtree Mac
    IBM Project Assistant
Digital Research DR Logo for IBM PC (Copy protected) ~1983
Genuine disk dumps of PC-Tools 9.0 Pro. This was the last version specifically for MS-DOS. It appears there may have also been a "gold" edition, but I can't find any authoritative information that that officially existed.
Microsoft Access 2.0 Developer's Toolkit (only one I came across has missing setup files)
    VisiCorp VisiDex for IBM PC
    VisiCorp VisiFile for IBM PC
    VisiCorp VisiLink for IBM PC
    VisiCorp Desktop/Plan for IBM PC
    VisiTutor for VisiCalc
    IBM Planning Assistant
    IBM Document Retrieval Assistant
    IBM Drawing Assistant
  • At now, I've uploaded "Balance of Power (1986)" with Copy Protected Image. (.PSI)

*Attached content : 3 Disk Images (1 Copy Protected Image + 2 Standard Image)
(.PSI is PCE Sector Image, this runs on PCE emulator.)

    SHA1:7869ca142a43f167b7d86867afd8de097bd148c1 / BOP#1.PSI
    SHA1:8e2247b308f0b7180fc26f3742d2d6bf58137472 / BOP#2.IMA
    SHA1:6fc1566f33e762fa01d758ab70c4c322c40e8569 / BOP#3.IMA

To convert .PSI to .TC (Trans Copy Image), you must download PRI.EXE from the following link and run a follows.

    http://www.hampa.ch/pub/pce/pre/pce-201 ... -win32.zip (Binary)

    http://www.hampa.ch/pub/pce/pre/pce-201 ... b0-pfi.tgz (Source)

    pri -p encode auto bop#1.psi bop1.tc

    * Not all the .PSI image can't be converted to .TC or .PRI correctly.
This is original message from PCE author.

"The problem is not with duplicated sectors, but with overlapping
sectors. The PSI file format (and TD0, IMD and all others as
well) does not record the exact position of a sector on a
track, so it is impossible to reconstruct overlapping sectors.
This is a problem that can't be fixed, there's just not enough
information in the PSI or TD0 image."
  • Now I uploaded "Balance of Power: The 1990 Edition" (Program Disk only version)

*Balance of Power: The 1990 Edition (1989) (5.25")

    Attached content : 1 Disk Image (5.25" 360KB)

    SHA1:79b9ade93683d5ee81f03730845f59b32d89bcbd / DISK01.IMA

This package version doesn't include Windows runtime.
