Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Virus detected

edited December 2014 in Site Issues
This concerns the Visual Basic 6.0 file
URL: https://winworldpc.com/product/microsoft-visual-bas/60

Downloaded and burned to CD successfully.
When running the CD, AVAST flagged the "setup.exe" file in the root directory of the CD.
Claims that it is infected with Win32.Evo-gen (Susp).

Anybody else see this as infected.
Do you do virus scans on the software on this site?

Comments

  • All the software on WinWorld are original dumps (or close to it), and contain no viruses or malware. You may want to scan it with another virus scanner, such as Malwarebytes or AVG.
  • I believe this is a false positive from Avast. I've had a similar experience using Visual Studio 97 CDs from different sources with AVG during the setup program.
  • I recall this file getting replaced from MSDN's copy direct.
