Unboxing Windows NT 3.1

edited September 2015 in Software
I had a shrink wrap copy of Windows NT 3.1 Workstation floating around, and decided to open it up.

It's quite hard finding a copy of this version these days. After missing out on a new copy from the US selling for around $300, by chance this one came up locally a while later and got it for $60.

Upon opening the box, you are presented with the following:

You are given the choice to install by either 3.5" floppies or CD-ROM. The 5.25" floppies were just enough to boot off to the CD-ROM installation. There's a page at the back of the manual that you had to tear out and sent off in order to get the 5.25" version. There was a time limit on getting those disks - up until the end of May 1994.

The printed material. The System Guide spans a couple of hundred pages, which is generally broken up into using Windows generally, the administration tools, and configuring for network use.
