Long Term Project:
If you saw my last post about win 98 or win 95 or whatever (the serial key thing) which was solved (thnx btw) but I now have a long term (if lucky short) project in mind:
Like I may have mentioned somewhere on this forum before I have a Compaq Presario 1625
I still have the Quick Restore Disc (somewhere, gotta find the damn thing) and I am trying to find a copy (zipped or not) of the system.sav folder since mine got deleted ages ago. The point is to return it to factory defaults. I also want some of the software that came with it... plus I have a product key for it still. Feel free to ask any questions about any other specific things I am trying to get for this old laptop. Or if anyone has the img for the Compaq Presario 1625 Quick Restore Disc since I can't find mine as of now lol, that would be helpful.

I don't really remember but there might have been originally 2 CDs.
If it was me I'd just:
1. Use a standard Windows 98 SE OEM copy.
2. Download and use drivers available here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=20&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=95211#N5191
3. Download the following Compaq wallpaper:

4. Install MS Works 4.5, Encarta & Bookshelf 98, and Quicken Basic 98 (may be trickier to find).
That would pretty much get it close to original installation.
