I wonder where they obtained that from originally?
BTW, I think you meant hardware, not software. Updated the thread title for you.
Oops, sorry, hehehe.
I used to have 16-64KB of IBM 5150 motherboard (BIOS Rev..2) ago.
But now I have BIOS chip and CPU only. (Motherboard was out of order.)
Another interesting piece of hardware that popped up on eBay is a "MacColby":

Never heard of this one before, apparently an aftermarket customized version of the original Mac stuffed in a portable form factor.

This card would enable an IBM 5150/5160 to run much CP/M-80 software natively. In the first few years of the IBM PC, CP/M-80 software was still everywhere, and on a 4.77mhz computer, software emulators weren't much of an option. This would have enabled someone to continue using their existing CP/M-80 binary software on an IBM PC.
Back in the day I had read quite a bit about this card. It was an interesting way for people to expand the compatiblity of their PCs back then.
Sadly, this card does not include software, and I don't believe it has ever been archived anywhere.
These probably would have run their own bootable variant of CP/M, although they may have used an MS/PC-DOS based compatiblity layer. Either way, an interesting piece of history now.
--> This must be early IBM PC 5150 with Rev.1 or Rev.2 (16-64KB Motherboard)

But no keyboard! :(
This was a non IBM-compatible MS-DOS computer that used big honking 8" floppy drives.
--> This is rare IBM genuine 8 bit VGA Card.

Should I buy this? What do people think of the price? The model?
:-/
You will be able to sell it to a collector if they need it later, so I suggest you buy this now (obviously assuming you have the spare cash). You can't do much nowadays, but as a collector's machine, it seems great.
So so so so tempted. It looks like a really nice example too, very good condition. But I really shouldn't blow money at the moment, I've got a big trip coming up ahead...
Then again, if I find the right collector I could always make money :P
Argh...
...
Bugger, decision was made for me. Last minute bidding war ... Ah well.

The MBC 550 is a very early PC clone that is not fully IBM hardware compatible. To operate, it must run its own special OEM port of DOS. - And the case looks like a VCR.
Not only does this include the proprietary keyboard, but manuals and original disks for its custom OEM of MS-DOS 1.25 and MS-DOS 2.11. It also includes the MBC 550 bundle of WordStar, CalcStar, and EasyWriter.
This is a highly configurable 8-bit FDC. It supposedly has a very fancy BIOS, supports use with 360K, 720K, 1.2mb, 1.44mb, 2.88mb, and with 8" drives. I think it also supports up to 4 drives at a time.

Judging by the pics, it even comes with the serial floppy.
Hell, if someone could find a DTR 2 or even an Orasis, I'd pay.

What some people might not realize is that the Compaq deskpro 386-16 was the first desktop PC 386 system. They even beat IBM.
If someone is wondering more about the DeskPro, here is an interesting link to the manual:

Perhaps WinWorld could carry this?
Generic late Microsoft Serial Mouse. Dunno why I posted this.

Even though this is not strictly "IBM PC" related, an Apple Lisa 2 is currently going for the low, low price of $250.00.

A nice IBM 5150 computer system that includes a keyboard and a monitor. Not an IBM monitor, seems to be made by Samsung. 512KB memory, a CGA card, and a fixed disk.
