Searching in the Library is nerfed

edited July 2016 in Site Issues
I was looking for the "Microsoft C++" compile in the dev tools and I tried the search bar, typed it in, pressed enter and nothing happened.

And because I usually do, I took a look in the markup and found that the <input> tag was not inside a <form> tag.
This should be a easy job if the search page has already been implemented.

  • The search function isn't a new issue, hasn't really worked since I joined this site a couple of years ago. I just know it's been on the to-do list among other things, though other priorities both relating to this site and otherwise come up.
  • I think there are other backend things broken on it right now, but I haven't really looked in to this issue. During the short time that it did work, it really did not work very well. Using a "site:" search on goggle was still much more useful.

There is a lot of stuff that simply no one has gotten around to yet. There are just a couple of small tweeks I have been meaning to do, and I keep putting those off in favor of adding more files to the archive.
  • I've implemented a rudimentary search.
