Not very expensive thinkpad?
Hey guys just wondering where i can find a IBM ThinkPad for a not too much, around the $20-$60 price range.
Also if you have one to sell that would help.

Honestly though, you're probably not going to find something newer than a T40 with that type of budget. If you absolutely *need* a laptop and that's all you have, I'd take a look at craigslist. There is usually a bunch of mid-late 2000's budget laptops around that price.
They aren't pretty or even that nice to be frank, but it'd be a lot newer and a little bit more capable than a thinkpad with your budget.
(p.s i am looking for a old laptop thats why i asked.
I finally got a thinkpad all this time later...
Kinda funny!
Which one did you get?
IBM x31 type 2885. It was a high end one with WinXP and WIFI and 512 of RAM and stuff.
Still with factory specs, except winXP sp3 instead of sp1.
Can you upgrade the ram. If you can what does it take?
Yes, I can, to 2 gigs.
Don't remember what type though...
Pop that sucker open, take out the ram and there should be a sticker saying what type. If not, refer to the manual. If you don’t have one, google is your best friend.
X30 had PC133 SDRAM, while X31 and X32 used the original DDR variety.
Yeah, thats it.
I can't afford more though, so I'm SOL...
How much money ya got in ya pocket, cuz’ I found a 2gig stick for like 6 bucks.

Ohhhhh...
Ok maybe I'll shoot for it...
That's a DDR2 and won't work. You need the original DDR. Something like these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Atech-1GB-SODIMM-DDR-Laptop-PC2700-2700-333-333mhz-200pin-Notebook-Memory-Ram/321872623379?_trkparms=aid=555019&algo=PL.BANDIT&ao=1&asc=41375&meid=9ba332c036764de8ad20393bb6dc4551&pid=100505&rk=1&rkt=1&&_trksid=p2045573.c100505.m3226
Jeez how much time you people got in your hands anyway...

Actually, you could sometimes get a ThinkPad T60 or X60. That has a DUAL CORE PROCESSOR (Core Duo or Core 2 Duo, depending on model).
