If your a n00b then I dout you can get IIS to run. Just use Abyss.
Thats true. I remember one time when I was playin with IIS I was like, how the hell do you start this thing or is it started already or what? I eventually removed it and got Abyss. Abyss is outstanding.
Now I know it can be run as a service and starts once when you turn on the computer, but I like the idea of ahaving a console or something where you can change settings and what not. I dont think IIS has that.
First: Nemo, stop complaining about XP untill you have a computer that will RUN it.
Second: Apache isnt that hard, once you have someone explain it to you its pretty easy, but Abyss is definately easier, but doesnt work well with PHPBB / PHP / script caching. IIS is just horrible though, dont even bother.
Could have been an oddity. It's usually been stable for me.
My mom's school uses IIS. They're tech people who are of the common "Oh! It's a Microsoft product! It costs several thousand dollars! It therefore must be the best!" belief. -_-
Worst of all her grading system is running on IIS! -_-

IIS blows, and why the hell would anyone trust Microsoft with their webserver controls? i wouldn't.
Nemo has ASPLinux on his PC running far better than XP.
second, Linux runs like crap on.....EVERTHING!
Large quantity of holes in XP does not depend on what computer you using.
It's crap :-)
=Q
Its a highly unstable OS
you seriously need to rethink your idea of "stable" linux "owns" windows when it comes to stability and its much more secure....
BSD owns Linux
you ovioulsy didnt test them properly. u were probably usin some old comp. linux is stable
If Linux cant run on that, its got problems
