3.11...anything using the 3.x kernel was along the last. (The version of Windows 3.1 used for the DOS mode installer for Windows 9x/ME runs only in standard mode, I think.)

As far as i know, Windows 3.11 FW was first, then Microsoft decided to make light version of it, without a network support.

That was dumb. Network support should be automatically in an OS..then and now and in the future.

Yeah but back then noone needed networking and if they had internet they used terminal for BBS or used 3rd party dialer.
