  • I have a 95 disk with USB support. My friend evicted one of his renters. We found an old 486 we turned it on ejected the drive 95 disk was in the drive. It must be 95c scence its got USB support.
  • 95B had usb support too.
  • Not included though -- You need to download the patch from MS or get the OEM version of OSR 2.1.

    2.1 was just some big SP that had shit like USB included and I think it might of had ACPI support but that might of been 98.
  • A, B and C were confusing enough, the OSR numbers make it impossible to figure out what's going on...

    -Q
  • Yeah they all confuse me, I think this is right:

    A = OSR1 aka SP1
    B = OSR2
    C = OSR2.1
    D = OSR2.5
  • And then you have the retail version as well.
  • My 95B CD has the USB patch on its disk.
  • Yeah, USB support was added in B and later, improved in C.
  • That should be expanded as added as a Reference page to WinWorld.

    -Q
  • Agreed. Yeah I use 95B, that's the only CD I have I think, I may have another...

    No.

    A - OSR1
    B - OSR2
    B w/ updates released by OEM - OSR 2.1
    C - OSR 2.5

    Hey, I told you it was confusing.
  • Nah, A,B,C,1,2,3

    Quite simple. Then you add in 2.1.
  • OK, so WRT the letters:

    "Original"
  • Yeah Windows Build Numbers would be a great writeup, add the ones for every Windows from 95.
  • THAT cleared alot up.

    So 95a and A are the same with the exeption of "a" being retail and "A" being OEM?
  • And Internet Explorer. I dunno, I think that a and A might be off by just a few hotfixes/updates.
  • How annoying is that, Wikipedia strikes again!

    -Q
  • Wikipedia = God of the Internet
  • For once I wont disagree!
