Here are a few of the styles that were used throughout the late 1980s and 1990s:

    Weather STAR 4000 (1990-present):

    4000lr1993tw8.jpg

Map banners during OCM segments (1993):

    Tri State Weather (1989):

    Satellite Local Forecast (1994-1997):

Weather STAR 4000 satellite Local Forecast (used during technical difficulties through 2000):

  • OK the one I was thinking of had for things like the "PRECIP" color bar in that image something similar, but the borders between each color were diagonal.

    YES! That's it EXACTLY.

  • I run these in Virtual PC and Bochs
    Windows 95
    Windows 95c
    Windows 98se
Windows 98se With Windows 95 shell
    Windows 2000
    MS-DOS 6.22
    Windows 1.01
    Windows NT 4

Although I mostly use Virtual PC to run these because Bochs is SLOW.

    That's true ; )
  • I have some interesting VM's. Our VM's tend to be complete with items you would normally find in a corporation during the time they were running, so each VM has Office or Equiv of some flavour and antivrus etc. Each machine is meticulously patched with current Service patches/packs. Not a labour a love, more one required for a normal Dev/Migration environment.

    MS DOS 3.3-6.22
    PC DOS 4 - 2000
Windows 3.1 with netowrking under DOS
Windows For Workgroups 3.11 with networking on Windows
    Windows 95 OSR2
    Windows 98 SE
    Windows ME
Windows NT 3.51 Workstation, Advanced Server, Citrix Metaframe
Windows NT 4 Workstation, Server, Terminal Server
Windows 2000 Pro, Server, Advanced Server, Advanced with terminal Services
Windows XP Pro and Home , SP1 and SP2 versions
Windows Vista Business and Ultimate (no home or basic or whatever it is)
    OS/2 3.0 and 4.0
SuSE and Redhat distros (not sure what versions, I don't use those much, I have a true SuSE install I use)

Oddballs that we run on a VM that are usually in a VM themselves
    Windows CE, NT embedded

Most of these run from Virtual Server but of course many can be Run from Virtual PC as well if they were built with virtual IDE disks and not virtual SCSI disks. I know several of the guys have their own things they play with like BeOS and others but I don't use them and they're not checked into the source library so I have no idea what they are. I'm building a Netware 4.0 environment on Virtual Server at the moment, but man is it ever slow in there. I think I might be using real hardware as much as I hate to.

The versions of 3.11 and NT 3.51 that I uploaded were "sterilzed" versions of what we use when we work on projects. I may upload others that fall into abandonware if those two are well received.

I built all the VM's with the exception of Redhat and Vista. Some kid I hired built those because I was too lazy to do it. :p

  • Nice System 8.1 install, 1st time I've seen it out of English.

  • Q: Basilisk II supports everything from mac 1 to 8.1. As it states on the official site.
  • I'm fully aware of its capabilities; I've never seen the OS itself out of English though.

  • I have mac os 7.1 also in German.

BasiliskII goes down to System 6 at least, and if you have the correct ROMs, probably down to 0.x if you can get a REAL old ROM ;)

to that (sorry i eamnt 2nd page).

Unofficial version, usually compiled from CVS sources.
  • Roytam1, are you chinese?

    As you see, yes. ;)
  • Your rDNS is interesting.

Anyway, I always love the way that character set translations cant deal with things like "Windows NT" and "PIF".

  • Suppose there's pc-dos 7.1 as well.

    I have vms for

    pcdos 6.31, 7.10, 7.00 [fr]
    msdos 6.20 [de]
    os2 1.301, 2.00, 2.10

Not a lot, i suppose, because i use live metal for most installs. I have a KVM switch, with the B frame having at this moment,

    1. pcdos 6.31 + K8668 windows build (home grown patch),
    2. winnt 3.51
    3. some OS/2 (i think it's eCom 1.1)
    4. neptune
    5. windows 2000 (test install)
    6. windows XP (does anyone use it?)

On the A frame, i have

    1. msdos 7.10 (OOU)
    2. windows 2000 (main)
    3. windows 2000 (new) (oou - broken)
    4. windows xp pro (niru)
    5. windows vista ultimate

    VPC 2004 has

    1. french pcdos 701 + windows 311
    2. german msdos 622 + windows 311
    3. pcdos 6.31 + Win311 (k8668) + windows 98 beta 58
    4. windows xp home (niru - test hack)

    VPC 2007 has

    1. OS/2 1.3 (broken)
    2. OS/2 2.0
    3. OS/2 2.10 (to be updated)
    4. pcdos 7.10 (experimental)

    Still not bad for 120 MB + 80 MB (A frame) + 30 MB (b frame).
