whoever's posting the 10 minutes later thing, if you connect to a modem/router you get no viruses. Educate yourselves. You only get virus if you use DIALUP.

@angry Actually even with modern modems this still happens. What you need is a firewall which does NAT, so all modern Internet routers prevent you from attacks. But direct modems ... no. Oh and also you don't viruses then, but trojans and port attacks ... Viruses need to be executed by the user.
