  • wow, they made 6 GB 7200RMM drives. I know they use 8-10GB on XBOX's, but you need to unlock them. I think Tbo uses a little bigger drives.

    Conner 1.2gb HDD
  • hmm.... aluminum box?!

    I got a new idea !
  • It was an old home made Parametric Equalizer I got from a friend. It was dead, so I took everything out of the case, and checked if a AT board would fit. and it did! So I'm busy building this thing, But I have a problem with my powersupply...
  • Atleast i Think it's 7200RPM's im pretty sure it is,
I didn't wanna get stuck with this old Seagate "Medalist 2132" 4,500RPM
oh and my 3.06ghz has a multi combo Fdd, with Compact flash and SDRAM things in it too
  • Does anyone Name their PC's like me?
Although my friends have different names for theirs like "Morphius" and "Trinity" My 56k Modem is called Bob , i like ordinary names for mine......
  • I called my old gameing PC EL DIABLO.
  • LOL, I cant think of names. Lets see...PC1, PC2, PC3, PC4, ETc. up to like PC 12.
  • I always make up fictious type numbers. My P3 is "ISX-8505", my old server is called "SV-5211" and my p166 is called "CSR-5904"
  • That's what I do with my Virtual PCs!
  • LOL. I tried naming mine after Roman or Greek gods.

For instance, my laptop is Hermes, after the God of Flight or something like that. It's wireless, so that's where I got that from.

Everything is being reorganized soon, but I think I had a system named Zeus some where.

And of course, my faithful server named Herkimer. This is from when my Mom was a seceretary and they named the switchboard Herkimer. lol

You don't wannabe stuck with 3 7200rpm HDD's. Mine are burning hot after 3hrs of usage...
  • ....I dont really name mine..

    HeH! PBXs rock

  • I got a 7200 RPM 80GB /8MB cache, 7200RPM 10GB/512K cache, 3X 5400RPM 3GB / 256K cache? then alot of 2GB and under's.

I don't think it was a PBX, though they do rock. It was a while ago (like the 70's). I'm pretty certain it was the switchboard for the PA system into the classrooms.

    rOfL! Even better!

PS. Don't you hate PA usrs who don't know how to talk into them right?

You got to be kidding right? Sure and upgrade is nice, but I wouldnt be calling that slow ass. for god sakes, its 1GHz+
  • Meh, it is pretty slow, only ~1.6GHz... Im gonna get another CPU soon... or maybe a new PC next year... IF Microtel Computer Systems is offering a 64 bit by next year.
  • Why dont you just build your own PC from scratch. Its realll not that hard. get the case, minboard and PSU. put all that in. stick in the drives, video card, RAM, CPU, cooling coponents and your done!
  • ......thats what i DO do..
  • Yeah, but you said you want to get a Microtel. Thats basically prebuilt.
  • nic, that computer of yours is NOT slow. Its better than what most people have. Trust me. I have a friend who is using a 486 as of now.

And I admire him for it. I always looked upon people who use 'dinosaurs' to do things as well as, or many times even better then, faster, bloat-laden computers that I happen to use and work on.

    !LONG LIVE THE SURPASSIVE OBSOLETESTS!
