And if you happen to want Lotus 1-2-3 for your IBM PCJr, here is your chance:
Vintage Lotus 123 for IBM PC Jr New | eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-Lotus-1 ... 23489f9c09
While the ROMs are on Winworld, notice that in the photos there are three floppy disks that accompany it. I don't believe these have been archived anywhere.
Regarding the "Large Bundle of Original Vintage Microsoft Software 3 5 and 5 25 Floppy Disks" mentioned above, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Large-Bundle-of ... _442wt_864
They should have started with the last photo first, they have interesting looking 5.25" sets of:
Leading Edge Model "D" OEM MS-DOS 3.20
and
Learning DOS: Interactive Guide of the PC Operating System
I'm kind of curious now what is on that "interactive guide". I'm not sure this is archived anywhere.
"BDS C Compiler by Leon Zelman from Lifeboat Associates"
On a big old 8" disk. You don't see to much stuff from Lifeboat. As I recall, they were one of the early licensees of 86-DOS/MS-DOS for 8086 based s-100 systems. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BDS-C-Compiler- ... ht_289wt_0
Well, according to photo image, this must be Retail Full version not Upgrade.
But the seller said it is Upgrade version.
I don't know which is correct but I'm sure it may be Retail full.
The price is only $20.
I saw one of these on eBay from the US sell for around $300 last year. This copy I managed to get for $55 and didn't need to get it from half way across the world.
I saw one of these on eBay from the US sell for around $300 last year. This copy I managed to get for $55 and didn't need to get it from half way across the world.
Oh! If you really get this package, are you possible to dump all with opened package?
Oh! If you really get this package, are you possible to dump all with opened package?
I received it after work today. I guess I could, though is the current copy on WinWorld a modified/non-original copy? I'm in two minds about whether to open up wrapped software, not just this one but the other software I have. On one hand I'd like to keep it as a collector piece as it's technically 'new', but on the other hand I want to check out the contents.
I found MS Flight Simulator 1.0(?) on eBay still in shrinkwrap. I kind of want it, but departing around AU$150 isn't good timing at the moment. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181638908082
>I found MS Flight Simulator 1.0(?) on eBay still in shrinkwrap. I kind of want >it, but departing around AU$150 isn't good timing at the moment.
Right, if it mentions the PCJr then it would be ~v2.10. Support for PCJr was not added until 2.10.
And I know what you mean about timing.
Anyway, a few more interesting items on eBay for WinWorlders:
MicroPro WordStar 3.31 and Wordstar professional: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Micropr ... #ht_52wt_0
This appears to be a non-OEM version, and despite the title you can see in the pictures that these are for the IBM PC.
I LOVE the look of these manuals with their big StarWars-ish font. (If you ever wondered where MicroPal got the *star naming conversion from...) These would be awesome for display.
Also, as far as I know there are no proper archives of the retail WordStar 3.31.
5.25" Floppy disk lot: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-OF-31-VINTA ... _645wt_864
Mostly boring game, but among those I see Vertisoft DoubleDisk - that is an early drive compression tool. I don't believe this is archived anywhere. Also, a 5.25" AfterDark disk, but I can't tell what version.
IBM PC computer manuals, software, basic & C compiler, DOS 6, Windows 3.1 http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-PC-computer ... _338wt_864
Most of this stuff is fairly common, but if you look closely it appears to include IBM Basic Compiler 1.00 and Lets C. At a glance, those aren't properly archived anywhere.
WordPlus-PC http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-PC-computer ... _338wt_864
Sadly the disks are just copies, not original, and they don't say if this is the IBM PC version. Despite the "PC" in the name, there were versions of WordPlus-PC specific to the DEC Rainbow and a few other non-IBM PC machines. Still, an uncommon program that would be good to have archived somewhere.
On the hunt for a copy of Windows 1.0, and came across this:
US$5,500! Although the owner might have a nostalgic story behind his copy when working at IBM, is someone prepared to pay that much? http://www.ebay.com/itm/261740045443
At a glance, the floppy copy looks genuine, but the CD version has timestamps of 3/8/94. I'm not sure if that is right. (The floppy version is 9/11/93)
A couple more Digital Research items just sold for quite a bit:
Some other items:
A member of the vintage computing forum is selling a few software items, including Word for DOS 6.0, Word 2.0 on 5.25" disks, Windows for Workgroups, Sytos Plus backup software, and a couple of NT 4 workstation CDs, with manuals. http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcforum ... d-Software
IBM PC Network Program - Vintage Software Collection: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-PC-Network- ... ht_380wt_0
Not too uncommon, the PC LAN programs come up on ebay all the time, but that is a nice collection of multiple versions that would be good for archiving.
As I recall those only work with IBM token ring adapters, so not really much use to collectors. But I don't think I have seen those archived anywhere.
4 IBM Corvus Manuals: Omninet and Disk Systems http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-IBM-Corvus-Ma ... 1020wt_627
Just manuals, No software or hardware included, but I didn't know these Corvus disk systems were avaialble for IBM PC. A long time ago I used to have a similar Corvus system for the Apple II. Rip it open and inside is a normal 5.25" full height IMI ST-506 interface MFM hard drive. Really little need for an external drive with an IBM PC.
Another set of MicroPro WordStar Professional 3.31 disks and StarWars-ish manuals. Includes the DataStar database and ReportStar. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hug-Lot-of-Vint ... _214wt_864
Looks like it has disks for both CP/M-86 and MS-DOS on IBM PC.
Perhaps mostly of interest to SomeGuy, as I recall this being in his request list I've just seen a copy of VB 3.0 Standard Edition for 99 cents from Massachusetts.
Being in a Special Upgrade box, I'm not sure if that means it's the full version sold for a cheaper price for a limited time, or whether it's an upgrade version that will search for an installation of VB 2.0, Borland, etc. Nevertheless, it would be nice to have archived as searching for original images of this version on the net have been fruitless.
*Microsoft Windows / 386 Version 2.0 Presentation Manager Factory Sealed (Maybe 2.03 due to dual media --> Seller said that is 2.03) http://www.ebay.com/itm/171658213443

I added the screenshot just for illustrative purposes, and should have put it down in the 'history' section.
As stated in the description, the software is sold 'as is, untested'........so no, I did not dump it as a disk image and run it. As you know, even though the disk is in great condition, who knows if it will load until one trys.
I hope this clarifies things. "
*Microsoft Windows / 386 Version 2.0 Presentation Manager Factory Sealed (Maybe 2.03 due to dual media --> Seller said that is 2.03) http://www.ebay.com/itm/171658213443

>http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Microso ... t_1326wt_0

I asked to seller about the version when the item was listed on eBay.
The seller re-listed item with 2.03
That Multimate Advantage looks like a good one, but I think they want a tad much.
And that 5150 is certainly museum quality! Although I have heard of ones with lower S/Ns. Way out of my price range though.
This is much more affordable : Crosstalk XVI (pronounced "16", for your powerful new 16-bit IBM PC) version 3.61 (~1986) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Crosstalk-XVI-1 ... _359wt_864
I just finished cleaning up the the CrossTalk entry and added a few versions, but we could use a genuine manual scan. This program had a bit of a die-hard following for automated and programmable communications functions.
Word Perfect 5.1 3.5" disk ~1989 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-WordPer ... 5d5565434c
Back in the day you couldn't sneeze without triggering an avalanche of WordPerfect disks, but oddly we don't have genuine images of the original 5.1, only the much later "5.1+".
Not positive what computer system these are for, but there are some 8" Thinker Toys branded disks with CP/M, and if the writing is to be believed, an early WordStar. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-disks-for-Thi ... _242wt_864
Googling for Thinker Toys and George Morrow gives for some interesting reading.
WordPerfect 5.1 for Windows http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wordperfect-For ... _488wt_864
This was the first, and really, really buggy Windows port of WordPerfect. There is one version on Winworld currently, but it is my understanding there were multiple 5.1 revisions.
